Melrose, a specialist manufacturing investor, first floated on AIM in 2003 with the strategy of acquiring businesses whose operational performance can be improved to create shareholder value. The group moved to London's main exchange in December 2005.

Melrose have maintained a steadily increasing dividend.

Following the Rights Issue which took place in July 2012 the Company’s share price was rebased. For shareholders who held shares prior to the Rights Issue (being from the ‘ex’ date of 17 July 2012) the following adjustment factor can be used to calculate the original price per share paid against current share prices.
Adjustment factor – 0.5689
For example, if 100 shares were purchased in May 2012 at a price of £4.09 per share the equivalent price following the Rights Issue is £4.09 x 0.5689 = £2.33.

The Melrose Industries Plc Board has declared an interim dividend for 2024 of 2.0 pence per share, which will be paid on 16 September 2024 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 9 August 2024. Their policy seeks to grow dividends over the longer term without being directly linked to earnings growth as they see organic growth as offering superior shareholder returns.

Combined with the 2021 interim dividend of 0.75 pence per share, this represents a total dividend for the year of 1.75 pence per share (2020: 0.75 pence). The final dividend will be paid on 20 May 2022 to those shareholders on the register at 8 April 2022, subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting ("AGM") on 5 May 2022.

Melrose Industries PLC announces a dividend of 0.75pence per share
Having taken the decision to withdraw the final 2019 dividend and not pay an interim 2020 dividend due to the impact of the global pandemic, the Melrose Industries Board is pursuing the stability and performance of the Group and since then has enabled a proposed final dividend for 2020 of 0.75 pence per share (2019: nil). With no 2020 interim dividend having been paid, this represents the total dividend for the year (2019: 1.7 pence). It should be noted that all payments received by the Group under the UK Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme were fully repaid last year.

In line with their progressive dividend policy, the Melrose Industries Board proposes to pay a final dividend of 3.4 pence per share (2018: 3.05 pence), making a total dividend for the year of 5.1 pence per share (2018: 4.6 pence), an increase of 11% from last year. The final dividend will be paid on 20 May 2020 to those shareholders on the register at 3 April 2020, subject to approval at the Annual General Meeting ("AGM") on 7 May 2020.
Melrose have declared an interim dividend of 1.7 pence per share up 10%
The Melrose Board declared an interim dividend of 1.7 pence per share (2018: 1.55 pence), which is a 10% increase on last year and will be paid on 11 October 2019 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 13 September 2019. The Board continues to align its dividend policy with the earnings of the Group and will use this basis to set future dividends, including for the final dividend for this year.
