About Royal Caribbean Group

Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., incorporated on July 23, 1985, is a cruise company. The Company owns and operates three global cruise brands: Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises (Global Brands). The Company also own joint venture interest in the German brand TUI Cruises, interest in the Spanish brand Pullmantur and interest in the Chinese brand SkySea Cruises (collectively, Partner Brands). Together, its Global Brands and its Partner Brands operate a combined total of 50 ships in the cruise vacation industry with an aggregate capacity of approximately 123,270 berths, as of December 31, 2016. As of July 31, 2018, the Company's ships offer a selection of itineraries that call on approximately 540 destinations in 105 countries, covering all seven continents.

 

Royal Caribbean International

 

Royal Caribbean International offers a range of itineraries to the destinations, including Alaska, Asia, Australia, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, the Panama Canal, South America and New Zealand with cruise lengths that range from 2 to 24 nights. Royal Caribbean International offers various options for onboard dining, entertainment and other onboard activities. As of December 31, 2016, the Company operated 25 ships with an aggregate capacity of approximately 78,150 berths under its Royal Caribbean International brand. As of December 31, 2016, this count included its two ships, such as the 5,450 berth Harmony of the Seas and the 4,100 berth Ovation of the Seas.

 

Celebrity Cruises

 

Celebrity Cruises offers accommodations, dining, and personalized service and spa facilities. Celebrity Cruises a range of itineraries to the destinations, including Alaska, Asia, Australia, Bermuda, Canada, the Caribbean, Europe, Hawaii, New Zealand, the Panama Canal and South America with cruise lengths that range from 2 to 18 nights. As of December 31, 2016, the Company operated 12 ships with an aggregate capacity of approximately 23,170 berths. As of December 31, 2016, the Company additionally, had four ships of a new generation, known as Project Edge, on order with an aggregate capacity of approximately 11,600 berths.

 

Azamara Club Cruises

 

Azamara Club Cruises serves the up-market segment of the North American, the United Kingdom and Australian markets. The up-market segment incorporates elements of the premium segment and the luxury segment. Azamara Club Cruises offers various itineraries to destinations, including Asia, Australia/New Zealand, Northern and Western Europe, the Mediterranean, Central and North America and the islands of the Caribbean. As of December 31, 2016, Azamara Club Cruises operated two ships with an aggregate capacity of approximately 1,400 berths under its Azamara Club Cruises brand, offering cruise itineraries that range from 3 to 21 nights.

 

Pullmantur

 

Pullmantur, which operates in the contemporary segment, is designed for Spanish-speaking families and couples, and includes a Spanish-speaking crew, as well as food and entertainment options. As of December 31, 2016, Pullmantur operated four ships with an aggregate capacity of approximately 7,450 berths.

 

SkySea Cruises

 

SkySea Cruises offers a product for Chinese cruise guests. All onboard activities, services, shore excursions and menu offerings are designed to suit the preferences of this target market. Cruising is considered a vacation sector in the North American and European markets and a developing sector in various other emerging markets.

 

TUI Cruises

 

TUI Cruises is a joint venture owned by the Company is a German tourism and shipping company, which is designed to serve the contemporary and premium segments of the German cruise market by offering a product especially for German guests. All onboard activities, services, shore excursions and menu offerings are designed to suit the preferences of this target market. As of December 31, 2016, TUI Cruises operated five ships, with an aggregate capacity of approximately 11,300 berths.

 

The Company competes with Carnival Corporation & plc, Disney Cruise Line, MSC Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.
