About Federal Realty Investment Trust
Federal Realty Investment Trust, incorporated on May 21, 1999, is an equity real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company specializes in the ownership, management and redevelopment of retail and mixed-use properties located primarily in affluent communities in selected metropolitan markets in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States, as well as in California and South Florida. As of December 31, 2016, the Company owned or had an interest in community and neighborhood shopping centers and mixed-use properties, which operated as 96 retail real estate projects and included approximately 22.6 million square feet. As of December 31, 2016, its 96 retail shopping center and mixed-use properties were located in 12 states and the District of Columbia. As of December 31, 2016, there were approximately 2,900 leases with tenants providing a range of retail products and services. These tenants range from sole proprietorships to national retailers, or corporate group of tenants.
The Company's portfolio includes, and acquires and redevelops, retail in various formats ranging from regional, community and neighborhood shopping centers that often are anchored by grocery stores to mixed-use properties that are typically centered around a retail component but also include office, residential and/or hotel components. The Company offers Pad Site Opportunities, Property Expansion or Conversion, Residential Opportunities and Mixed-Use Opportunities. It offers various options in specialty leasing and partnership marketing, which include carts and kiosks; temporary in-line store locations; holiday advertising and marketing; events, promotions and outdoor concerts; product sampling, and environmental partnerships.
The Company's retail and residential properties include 150 Post Street, Colorado Blvd, Crow Canyon Commons, Hermosa Avenue, Kings Court, San Antonio Center, Santana Row, Westgate Center, Bristol Plaza, Darien, Friendship Center, CocoWalk, Tower Shops, Crossroads, Bethesda Row, Congressional Plaza Residential, Free State Shopping Center, Perring Plaza, Quince Orchard, Rockville Town Square, White Marsh Other, Atlantic Plaza, Campus Plaza, Dedham Plaza, Saugus Plaza, Gratiot Plaza, Brook 35, The Grove at Shrewsbury, Troy, Fresh Meadows, Huntington Square, Eastgate Crossing, Andorra, Flourtown, Lawrence Park, Wynnewood, Barcoft Plaza, Graham Park Plaza, Leesburg Plaza, Old Keene Mill, Tyson's Station and Willow Lawn. Its properties are located in California, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
