Lamb Weston Holdings, Inc. (Lamb Weston), is a supplier of frozen potato, sweet potato, appetizer and vegetable products to restaurants and retailers around the world. The Company's segments include Global, Foodservice, Retail and Other. The Company, along with its joint venture partners, offers a product portfolio to a channel and customer base in over 100 countries. Its offerings include Sweet Things, Straight Cut Fries, Crinkle/Concertina, Wedge, Twister/Curly Fries, Criss Cut/Waffle Fries, Puff, Chip, Slice, Potato Skin, Mashed, Hash Browns/Formed, Steak Cut Fries, Platter Cut Fries, Trim Fries, Chef Cut Fries, Ribcut and Appetizers.
Global
The Global segment includes operations associated with Lamb Weston’s business with large chain restaurant customers, whether those results are generated in the United States or abroad, as well as operations associated with retail and foodservice customers located outside of the United States and Canada. Its product portfolio includes frozen potatoes, frozen sweet potatoes and frozen appetizers. The segment includes non-United States and non-Canadian retail and foodservice customers. Products are sold under the Lamb Weston brand, as well as various customer labels.
Foodservice
The Foodservice segment includes sales to a line of foodservice distribution customers in the United States and Canada. The purchasers of its products include businesses, primary, secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, independent restaurants, regional chain restaurants and convenience stores. Its product portfolio includes frozen potatoes, frozen sweet potatoes and frozen appetizer items. Products are sold under the Lamb Weston brand, as well as various customer labels.
Retail
The Retail reporting segment includes sales to grocery, mass, club, and specialty retailers primarily in the United States. Its products are sold in the freezer section, and are also found in the prepared foods section of various retailers. Its product portfolio includes consumer facing frozen specialty potato and frozen sweet potato items that are sold under the retailer’s own brands and licensed equities such as Idaho and Alexia, a natural and organic frozen potato brand, which is licensed from ConAgra, and the brand names of North American restaurant chains.
Other
The Other segment includes the operations from Lamb Weston’s frozen vegetable business. It also includes the operations from Lamb Weston’s dairy business.
The Company competes with J.R. Simplot Company, McCain Foods, Cavendish Farms and The Kraft Heinz Company.
