Western Asset High Income Opportunity Fund Inc. is a diversified, closed-end management investment company. The Fund seeks high current income. Capital appreciation is a secondary objective. It invests, under normal market conditions, approximately 80% of its net assets in high-yield securities and over 20% in common stock equivalents, including options, warrants and rights. The Fund may use a variety of derivative instruments for investment purposes as well as for hedging or risk management purposes. These derivative instruments may include futures contracts, forward contracts, credit default swaps, credit default swap index securities, swap agreements and options on such instruments. Legg Mason Partners Fund Advisor, LLC (LMPFA) is the Fund’s investment manager. Western Asset Management Company, LLC (Western Asset) and Western Asset Management Company Limited (Western Asset Limited) are the Fund’s subadvisors.
