Eastman Chemical Company (Eastman), incorporated on July 29, 1993, is an advanced materials and specialty additives company that produces a range of advanced materials, specialty additives, chemicals, and fibers found in items people use every day. The Company operates through four segments: Additives & Functional Products (AFP), Advanced Materials (AM), Chemical Intermediates (CI), and Fibers. As of December 31, 2016, the Company had 49 manufacturing sites and equity interests in six manufacturing joint ventures in 14 countries that supplied products to customers throughout the world.
Additives & Functional Products Segment
In the AFP segment, the Company manufactures chemicals for products in the coatings, tires, consumables, building and construction, industrial applications, including solar energy markets, animal nutrition, care chemicals, crop protection, and energy markets. Its products include Coatings and Inks Additives, such as Polymers, Eastman Tetrashield, Texanol, Optifilm, ketones and oxo alcohols; Adhesives Resins, such as Piccotac, Regalite, Eastotac and Eastoflex; Tire Additives, such as Crystex, Santoflex and Impera; Care Chemicals Additives, such as Alkylamine Derivatives; Specialty Fluids, such as Therminol, Skydrol and Eastman SkyKleen; Animal Nutrition, such as Formic acid solutions, and Crop Protection, such as Alkylamine derivatives.

Advanced Materials Segment
In the AM segment, the Company produces and markets its polymers, films, and plastics with differentiated performance properties for end uses in transportation, consumables, building and construction, durable goods, and health and wellness products. Technology platforms for this segment include cellulose esters, copolyesters, and polyvinyl butyral (PVB) and polyester films. The performance films product line primarily consists of window film products, which are aftermarket applied films used in automotive and architectural glass. The Company's product lines in AM segment include Specialty Plastics, Advanced Interlayers and Performance Films. The Company's Specialty Plastics products include Eastar copolyesters, Eastman Tritan copolyester, Eastman Visualize Material, Eastman Embrace copolyester, Eastman Spectar copolyester, Eastman Aspira family of resins and Flexvue. The interlayers product line includes specialty intermediate PVB sheet and resins. PVB is a specialty resin used in the production of laminated safety glass sheet used in automotive and architectural applications. The Company's Interlayers products include Saflex and Saflex Q Series. The specialty plastics product line consists of two primary products: specialty copolyesters and cellulose esters. The Company's Performance Films products include LLumar, SunTek, V-KOOL and Gila.

The CI segment leverages large scale and vertical integration from the cellulose and acetyl, olefins, and alkylamines streams to support its specialty operating segments. The CI segment sells excess intermediates beyond its specialty needs for use in markets, such as industrial chemicals and processing, building and construction, health and wellness, and agrochemicals. Its technology platforms include acetyls, oxos, plasticizers, polyesters, and alkylamines. Its products include Intermediates, such as oxo alcohols and derivatives, acetic anhydride, ethylene, glycol ethers and esters; Plasticizers, such as Eastman 168, Eastman DOP, Benzoflex, Eastman TXIB and Eastman Effusion, and Functional Amines, such as alkylamines.

In the Fibers segment, the Company manufactures and sells Estron acetate tow and Estrobond triacetin plasticizers for use primarily in the manufacture of cigarette filters; Estron natural (undyed) and Chromspun solution-dyed acetate yarns for use in apparel, home furnishings, and industrial fabrics, and cellulose acetate flake and acetyl raw materials for other acetate fiber producers. The Company's product lines in Fibers segment include Acetate Tow, Acetate Yarn and Acetyl Chemical Products.
