FMC Corporation, incorporated on August 10, 1928, is a diversified chemical company serving agricultural, consumer and industrial markets. The Company operates in three business segments: FMC Agricultural Solutions, FMC Health and Nutrition, and FMC Lithium. As of December 31, 2016, the FMC Agricultural Solutions segment developed, marketed and sold three classes of crop protection chemicals: insecticides, herbicides and fungicides. The FMC Health and Nutrition segment focuses on nutritional ingredients, health excipients and functional health ingredients. The Company's FMC Lithium segment manufactures lithium for use in a range of lithium products.

FMC Agricultural Solutions

The FMC Agricultural Solutions segment operates in the agrochemicals industry. This segment develops, manufactures and sells a portfolio of professional pest control, and lawn and garden products. The Company's product line consists of insecticides and herbicides. The Company's insecticides are used to control pests, while herbicide portfolio targets difficult-to-control weeds. The insecticides are used in protection of crops, including soybean, corn, fruits and vegetables, cotton, sugarcane, rice, and cereals, from insects and for non-agricultural applications, including pest control for home, garden and other specialty markets. The herbicides are used in the protection of crops, including cotton, sugarcane, rice, corn, soybeans, cereals, fruits and vegetables from weed growth and for non-agricultural applications, including turf and roadsides. The fungicides are used in the protection of crops, including fruits and vegetables from fungal disease.

FMC Health and Nutrition

The FMC Health and Nutrition segment focuses on food ingredients, pharmaceutical excipients and omega-3 oils. The Company's product offerings into the food markets provide texture, structure and physical stability (TSPS) solutions to certain food products. The Company's formulation ingredients serves the pharmaceutical industry function as binders, disintegrants, suspending agents, and control-release compounds for the production of both solid and liquid pharmaceutical products. The Company's functional ingredient product offerings are Omega-3 products, as well as certain alginate products, which are considered to be active pharmaceutical ingredients. FMC Health and Nutrition is a supplier of microcrystalline cellulose (MCC), carrageenan, alginates, natural colorants, pectin and omega-3, which have applications in the production of food, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and other specialty consumer products.

FMC Lithium

The Company sells lithium to a range of end markets. The Company's product offerings are inorganic. Lithium is utilized in energy storage, specialty polymers and pharmaceutical synthesis. Lithium is also used in batteries, polymers, pharmaceuticals, greases and lubricants, glass and ceramics and other industrial uses.
