About Lookers plc

Lookers plc is a leading automotive retailer and distributor in the UK, and is comprised of three divisions: Lookers in England and Wales, Taggarts and the Lomond Group in Scotland and Charles Hurst in Northern Ireland and parts of the Republic of Ireland.

The Lookers Group was originally a bicycle shop, founded in 1908 by John Looker. Dealing Ford cars until the First World War, the business continued to grow and prosper throughout the following decades. In the 1960s, Lookers made its first major acquisition and since then has expanded to encompass dealerships all over the UK.

The Charles Hurst Group was founded in 1911 and has become the most recognised motor retail groups in Northern Ireland. Based in Belfast, Charles Hurst offers a vast choice of motor vehicles, both of prestige and volume brands.

Founded in 1896, Taggarts has showrooms in Glasgow and Motherwell and covers some of the best known franchises in the automotive industry. Taggarts was acquired by Lookers plc in 2003, taking Lookers into Scotland for the first time.

The Lomond Group were established in 1998 as a single Audi centre in Kyle Street, Glasgow. The group rapidly expanded due to demand and opened one of Europe’s largest Audi Centres in Braehead. With Glasgow Audi proving to be such an enormous success, they branched out, acquiring Edinburgh Audi and Stirling Audi in 2006 and then in 2007, opening Ayr Audi for business.

Lookers plc have an independent aftermarket parts division, made up of FPS Automotive Parts Distribution, BTN Turbo and APEC Braking. Our dedicated parts division ensures that the Lookers Group can offer our customers the best aftermarket service in the UK.

Lookers plc aso have a growing Leasing Division, made up of Lookers Leasing, Vehicle Rental Service (VRS), Charles Hurst Business Solutions and Charles Hurst RentaCar.
