PZ Cussons is a leading manufacturer of personal healthcare products and consumer goods, best known for Imperial Leather and Pearl soaps, Cussons baby lotion, and Carex hand-wash. It was founded in 1879 and was known as Paterson Zochonis after its founders' surnames, the firm was renamed PZ Cussons in 2002.

PZ Cussons to reduce the interim dividend by 44% to 1.50p
The PZ Cussons plc Board has reviewed the dividend carefully given the material devaluation of the Naira, particularly as it is difficult to foresee a significant rebound in the value of the currency in current circumstances. Had the exchange rate as at 31 January 2024 been the rate used to translate the FY23 results, FY23 EPS would have been over 30% lower. As a result, the Board has determined that it would not be prudent to pay an unchanged dividend. It has therefore elected to pay an interim dividend of 1.50p with the objective of achieving a cover of approximately two times for FY24.

PZ Cussons plc Board is recommending a final dividend of 3.73 pence which is unchanged on the previous year. This represents a total dividend for FY23 of 6.40p. Subject to approval at the AGM, which will be held on 23 November 2023, the final dividend will be paid on 30 November 2023 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 2 November 2023.

The PZ Cussons Board is recommending a 9% increase in the final dividend, at 3.73 pence (FY21: 3.42p) per share, making a total of 6.40 pence (FY21: 6.09p) per share for the year. This overall 5.1% increase reflects the Board's confidence in the Group's financial resilience and future growth prospects. Subject to approval at the AGM, which will be held on 24 November 2022, the final dividend will be paid on 30 November 2022 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on 21 October 2022.
