S & U plc board proposes a final dividend of 50p per ordinary share
Subject to the approval of shareholders at the AGM on 6 June, the S & U plc board proposes a final dividend of 50p per ordinary share (2023: 60p). This will be paid on 12 July 2024 to the shareholders on the register on 21 June 2024. Total dividends for the year will then be 120p per share (2023: 133p).
S & U announce a first interim dividend of 35p per ordinary share
The S & U Board proposing a final dividend of 5.75p (2022: 5.50p) which will mean a total dividend for the year of 8.0p (2022: 7.75p) an increase of 3.23%. This is a record level of dividend.
S & U Plc Declares Final Dividend of 60p per Ordinary Share
Whilst acknowledging their responsibilities to wider stakeholders, S&U has always felt a primary responsibility to its shareholders. They fulfil this by regular engagement, and by distributing the rewards of the company success with them; this implies their normal practice of a 50% distribution of post-tax profits in dividends. This year the vacillations of the government over future corporation tax rates have clouded these decisions. Therefore, in the light of an EPS of 277.5p per share the board proposes to recommend, subject to the approval of their shareholders at the AGM on the 25 May 2023, a final dividend of 60p (2022: 57p) per Ordinary Share. This final dividend will be paid on 7 July 2023 to shareholders on the register on 16 June 2023. This will mean that total dividends this year will be 133p per share (2022: 126p).
S & U plc announces a final dividend of 57p per share
The S & U plc Board has proposed a final dividend of 57p per share (2021: 43p). This dividend is subject to the approval of shareholders at their AGM on 26 May 2022. This final dividend will be paid on 8 July to shareholders on the register on 17 June 2022.
S & U announce an interim dividend of 33p per ordinary share
S & U have declared a first interim dividend of 33.0p per share (2020: 22.0p per share). The first interim dividend, which amounts to approximately £4,008,000 (2020: £2,671,000), will be paid on 19 November 2021 to shareholders on the register at 29 October 2021. The shares will be quoted ex dividend on 28 October 2021. The interim financial information does not include this proposed dividend as it was declared after the balance sheet date.
S & U announce final dividend of 43p per ordinary share to be paid on 9 July 2021
Throughout the pandemic, S&U has not furloughed staff nor taken any Government support. Therefore, they have decided this year that a combination of confidence in the post Covid recovery, S&U's financial strength and the prospects for their businesses justifies a final dividend of 43p per share (2020: 50p). Subject, as always, to the approval of shareholders at our AGM on the 20th May 2021, this final dividend will be paid on 9th July 2021 to those on the register on the 18th June 2021.
S & U announce interim dividend: 22p per ordinary share
Consistently rising profits and as having a historically conservative business approach has enabled over 10 years of steadily increasing dividends. Current trends and their desire for future sustainability demand an adjustment now. Therefore they propose to pay a first interim dividend this year of 22p per ordinary share (2019: 34p) to be followed by further payments in March and July next year. This dividend will be paid on the 20 November 2020 to shareholders on the register on the 30 October 2020. This payment represents a sensible balance between prudence in uncertain times and fundamental confidence in the business as the economy returns to a new normal.
S & U announces a final dividend of 50p per ordinary share to be paid on 10 July 2020
S & U recommend a payment of a final dividend of 50p per ordinary share (2019: 51p) to shareholders on the register at the 19th June 2020. This means that total dividends this year will be 120p per share (2019: 118p) with this total dividend being again covered nearly exactly twice (2019: 1.98). As usual, final dividend will be subject to the approval of shareholders at our AGM, which will now be held by remote means on 9th June 2020.
